The Order of Eastern Star is a society to which Master Masons and their female relatives may belong. It was founded by Dr. Rob Morris, a highly respected Masonic poet, who developed the Eastern Star initiation ritual in 1850. The ritual contains dramatic scenes at five star points, each one associated with a Biblical story.
Although OES employs some Christian symbolism in its rituals, people of all religions may belong to the Order. Please visit the General Grand Chapter website for official information on membership requirements.
