The Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm, whose subordinate bodies are called Grottoes, is an organization created by Master Masons and is connected to Freemasonry only in so far as its membership is restricted to Master Masons in good standing.
The slogan of The Grotto is "GOOD FELLOWSHIP" and like The Shrine Club, it is a place for Master Masons to have fun. The Grotto has a full length ritual with a Persian theme, requiring a cast of thirty members or more to be properly performed. Many Grottoes have units such as a drill team, drum and bugle corp, clown group, choral groups, etc. Members of Grotto are called Prophets.
The humanitarian objective of The Grotto is to help children with Cerebral Palsy, and they have a foundation established for this purpose. They also support a "Dentistry for the Handicapped" program.
